Exploring Advanced Research and Art Preservation in Paris
At the beginning of the school year, our M1 students embarked on an enriching school trip to Paris, blending science and culture through visits to two prestigious institutions: Synchrotron SOLEIL and the Centre de Recherche et de Restauration des Musées de France (C2RMF).
Morning at Synchrotron SOLEIL
The day began with an eye-opening visit to Synchrotron SOLEIL, an advanced research facility dedicated to studying the properties of matter through high-intensity electromagnetic radiation. Students were treated to a guided tour and an insightful presentation on the groundbreaking research conducted at SOLEIL, where they learned about the powerful techniques scientists use to explore the fundamental properties of materials.
Afternoon at C2RMF
In the afternoon, the group headed to the C2RMF, the Research and Restoration Center of the Museums of France, to discover the world of art preservation. Students were introduced to cutting-edge methods for preserving cultural heritage and were even given a rare close-up look at C2RMF’s particle accelerator, a tool used to analyze and conserve priceless artworks.
🙏🏽 We extend our heartfelt thanks to our hosts at Synchrotron SOLEIL and C2RMF for providing an unforgettable day filled with learning and discovery, inspiring our students towards possible future internships and post-study careers.
